Money: Government-issued currencies and corporation-issued scrip are fully digital; only in rare cases do some localities or corps use cash, usually in areas where the Net is not reliably available. The kinds of credit are tied to your identity (either government- or corporation-issued), and thus are not accessible to Zeroes.

Various cryptocurrencies are in use, but the most popular are certain stablecoins tied to major world currencies, backed by compact between major governments and corporations. These cryptocurrencies rely on access to the Net, but are not tied to your identity, and thus are accessible to Zeroes.

The cumulative inflation of the US$ from the 2020s to the 2080s is roughly 900% (×10).

ARMOR

Soft and hard armor protect differently from certain weapons: for instance, blades and rifle caliber bullets halve the protection of soft armor, and flechettes quarter it.

Stacking armor: Soft armor may be stacked with soft armor or hard armor; hard armor may not be stacked with hard armor. For each piece of armor that overlaps another, add 1 Level of Encumberance. Calculate the Armor Points for any location by taking the highest value and adding ½ the next highest value to it, and repeat.

MODERN ARMOR

Treated garments are impregnated with shear-thickening fluids (e.g. polyethylene glycol with silica nano-particles suspended in it), which cause them to resist tearing.

Nanocloth, short for carbon nanotube cloth, is made of fullerenes—a flexible and durable weave made of carbon nanotubes.

Actual armored clothing is made of aramid fibers impregnated with STFs, reinforced with fullerenes.

Modern hard armor is made with polycarbonates, fullerenes and shear-thickening fluids and dilatants, along with ceramic-metal alloys.
